Description

This training course gives you a clear understanding of the place of screens in children’s lives today, their effects (attention, sleep, learning, mood, posture/vision) and the associated risks (overexposure, unsuitable content, cyber-risks). You’ll learn how to set a soothing framework, co-constructed with the child, install effective routines (breaks, simple rules, balance between physical and digital activities) and use concrete tools (parental controls, visual timers, educational playlists). Practical workshops with COCO THINKS and COCO MOVES and CLINT, your brain coach, will help you turn good intentions into lasting habits at home.

Training objectives

• Understand current uses (multiscreen, notifications, games/networks) and their impact on attention, sleep, mood and learning.

• Know the benchmarks for screen time by age group and the principles of co-use.

• Identify signs of overexposure and cyber-risks (screening, vigilance).

• Set up appropriate parental controls (age profiles, time limits, filters, reports).

• Establish regular breaks and a rhythm of use compatible with sleep.

• Co-construct clear rules and positive routines (before/after, no screens at mealtimes, no screens 1 hour before bedtime).

• Manage the end of the screen without a crisis (visual timer, countdown, gateway activity).

• Prevent isolation and balance physical and digital activities (mixed weekly schedule, “1 for 1” rule).

• Secure social networks and content (private accounts, settings, PEGI/ratings, whitelists, playlists).

• Set up a home workshop with COCO/CLINT: micro-objectives, sports breaks, parent-child debriefing, weekly follow-up.

You’ll leave with: screen-time checklists by age, digital family contract templates, express parental control guides (iOS/Android/box), “timer & end of screen” sheets, a mixed weekly planning template, and a ready-to-use tracking chart for the COCO/CLINT workshop.
