Cognitive biases are mental shortcuts that help us decide quickly… but can sometimes mislead us. They influence our choices, our judgements, how we interpret information, and how we assess risks. Knowing them does not eliminate them, but helps us spot them better.
Some biases explored in this test
Confirmation bias
Tendency to favour information that confirms what we already think, and to minimise information that contradicts our beliefs.
Anchoring bias
The influence of a first piece of information (a price, a figure, a first impression) that serves as a starting point for all our judgements.
Availability bias
We judge an event as more likely simply because we have a recent or striking example in mind.
Loss aversion
Losses weigh more heavily on us than equivalent gains. We may stay in an unsatisfying situation for fear of losing what we already have.
