About Course
This 5-hour training is aimed at professionals who support individuals who have lost or never acquired verbal communication: caregivers, companions, and activity leaders in medical residences or senior residences, home care aides, specialized educators, medical-psychological assistants, and professionals in the disability sector. It enables them to understand the mechanisms of non-verbal communication, to decode the bodily signals of the individuals they support, to adjust their own posture and gestures, and to use eye contact and relational touch as care tools. The last two modules focus on the specificities of each audience: non-communicative senior residents (advanced dementia, aphasia, end of life) and individuals with disabilities (ASD, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities). At the end of the training, each participant will be able to engage with a non-communicative person, read their bodily responses, and adapt their practice according to the profile.
