Introducing yourself to someone
Progress:0/4
1
The situationI am in a new place (school, activity, party). I see someone my age I do not know. I would like to get to know them.
2
How I feelI might feel a little shy or nervous. That is normal! Everyone feels that way sometimes. I can take a deep breath to calm down.
3
What I can doI walk over with a smile. I look at the person (no need to stare). I say:
Hi! I am [my name]. And you?
I wait for their reply. Then I can ask:
What games / sports / music do you like?

4
The resultThe person will probably reply and we can start talking. Even if they are a little shy too, I have taken the first step. I can be proud of myself!
Asking for help
Progress:0/4
1
The situationI cannot do something (an exercise, open something, find my way). I have tried on my own but I am stuck.
2
How I feelI might feel frustrated or embarrassed about asking. But asking for help is not a weakness! Everyone needs help sometimes, even adults.
3
What I can doI find someone who can help me (adult, classmate). I approach politely and say:
Excuse me, could you help me please?
I explain my problem clearly. I listen to the advice and say:
Thank you very much!

4
The resultMost people are happy to be able to help. I will probably solve my problem and learn something new!
Joining a group
Progress:0/4
1
The situationAt break or elsewhere, I see children playing together. I would like to play with them but they have already started their game.
2
How I feelI might be afraid they will say no. It is normal to worry about that. But if I do not ask, I will never know!
3
What I can doI walk over and watch what they are doing for a moment. I wait for a pause in the game, then say:
Hi! That looks fun. Can I play with you?
If yes: great! I join the game. If no: no problem, I can find something else or try again later.

If yes: great! I join the game. If no: no problem, I can find something else or try again later.
4
The resultOften the others are happy to have a new player! And even if they say no this time, I can be proud of having dared to ask.
Handling a disagreement
Progress:0/4
1
The situationSomeone does not agree with me or has done something that bothered me. We do not want the same thing.
2
How I feelI might feel frustrated or angry. It is OK to feel that way! But I need to calm down first before speaking. I take a few breaths.
3
What I can doI speak in a calm voice (no shouting). I use "I" statements:
I do not like it when... because it makes me feel...
I listen to what the other person has to say. We look for a solution together:
How could we make this work for both of us?
I do not like it when... because it makes me feel...
I listen to what the other person has to say. We look for a solution together:
How could we make this work for both of us?
4
The resultWhen we talk calmly, we often find a compromise. Even if we do not fully agree, we can stay friends and respect each other.
Accepting a loss
Progress:0/4
1
The situationI am playing a game (board game, sport, video game) and I lose. The other person or team has won.
2
How I feelI might feel disappointed or frustrated. It is normal to want to win! But losing is part of the game. Everyone loses sometimes, even champions.
3
What I can doI take a deep breath. I congratulate the winner:
Well played! You played really well.
I do not shout or sulk. I can say:
Shall we play again? I will do better next time!

I do not shout or sulk. I can say:
Shall we play again? I will do better next time!
4
The resultOthers will want to play with me again because I am a good sport. And I will improve the more I play. Whether I win or lose, the important thing is to have fun!
Receiving a compliment
Progress:0/4
1
The situationSomeone says something nice to me: "I like your drawing", "You are good at that game", "You are kind".
2
How I feelI might feel embarrassed or not know what to say. Some people do not like being the centre of attention. That is OK!
3
What I can doI look at the person and smile. I simply say:
Thank you, that is kind!
I can also give a compliment back if I want to:
Thank you! I like your [thing] too.

4
