Training “MS and daily life: maintaining autonomy and preventing complications”: program, content, and who it is for

The MS and daily life training from DYNSEO is primarily aimed at those who support a loved one with multiple sclerosis at home: spouse, child, parent, friend, or neighbor who lends a hand. This page describes in detail what the training “MS and daily life: maintaining autonomy and preventing complications” actually contains: its program module by module, who it is really useful for, how much time it takes, what it costs, and — equally important — what it does not claim to do.

The goal is simple: for you to know, before registering, if it fits your situation. No overselling, no promise of healing, no disguised medical protocol. A short, concrete training designed for loved ones who learn the caregiver role without having chosen it, and who seek reliable reference points between two appointments with the care team.

The essentials in 30 seconds

“MS and daily life: maintaining autonomy and preventing complications” is an online training of 4 modules and 16 lessons, designed by DYNSEO for families and caregivers of a person with multiple sclerosis. It costs 20 €, can be followed at your own pace, and ends with a certificate of completion.

  • For whom — spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, close friend of a person living with MS. No medical prerequisites.
  • What you will learn — understanding motor disorders, adapting the home and preventing falls, supporting without doing it for them, and preserving your own health as a caregiver.
  • Format — 100% online, short lessons, to be followed in order or by theme, at a time that suits you.
  • Access — immediate after purchase, unlimited in time, on computer, tablet, or phone.
  • Organization — DYNSEO, training organization certified Qualiopi (No. 11757351875), certificate of completion issued.

Why train when supporting someone with MS?

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease of the central nervous system. According to the ARSEP Foundation (Foundation for assistance in research on multiple sclerosis), it is one of the leading causes of non-traumatic disability in young adults, and it affects women more often than men, with a diagnosis that most frequently occurs between the ages of 20 and 40. In other words: it strikes right in the middle of active, family, and professional life. Rarely at a time when one is ready.

The MS has another characteristic that confuses those around: it is unpredictable and fluctuating. One day can be almost normal, the next marked by overwhelming fatigue, tingling, a dragging leg, or blurred vision. These variations are not "in the head" and do not stem from a lack of will: they are part of the disease. When one does not know this, one misinterprets. One thinks that the loved one "pushes" one day and "lets go" the next, while they are simply dealing with invisible symptoms.

This is precisely the space that this training fills. It does not replace the neurologist, the physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, the physiotherapist, or the occupational therapist. It gives you the common language to understand them, and the everyday gestures that no one has time to detail in consultation: how to arrange a bathroom, how to help someone get up without injuring yourself, how to encourage autonomy without doing it for them, how to recognize your own caregiver fatigue before it becomes exhaustion.

The loved one becomes a caregiver overnight

Behind every person with MS, there is almost always someone who adapts their life: who accompanies them to appointments, who reorganizes the home, who reassures during a flare-up, who also bears the worry and fatigue. This role is rarely learned. It is improvised, often alone, sometimes with the feeling of doing it wrong. Training is not about substituting for caregivers: it is about stopping to navigate blindly.

⚠️ To be stated upfront

This training does not make any diagnosis and does not replace any medical advice. Any sudden worsening — sudden loss of strength, speech, vision, or consciousness disturbances, fall with inability to get up — must lead to contacting the emergency services in your country without delay. For treatment adjustments, disease progression, and prognosis, only the doctor who follows your loved one is qualified to speak.

Who is this training for?

It belongs to the Family category of the DYNSEO catalog, and this is a deliberate choice: the vocabulary, examples, and situational contexts are designed for people who are not caregivers. No medical prerequisites, no prior knowledge of neurology. Three profiles particularly find themselves here.

💙

The partner

They share daily life and see the variations up close: fatigue, "good" days and "bad" days. They need to understand what comes from the disease to stop taking everything personally.

📞

The adult child

Often from a distance, they coordinate appointments, worry between visits, and seek reliable markers to know what to monitor, when to alert, and how to help concretely.

🏠

The close circle

Parent, brother, sister, friend, neighbor who lends a hand. They want to help without clumsiness: to offer the right gesture, respect autonomy, and know where the limit lies.

A word for professionals : caregivers, home helpers, and facility companions can perfectly find a clear and well-structured foundation here. However, the training is designed for a family audience : if you are looking for content strictly oriented towards regulated professional practice, refer to the dedicated pathways in the DYNSEO training catalog.

The detailed program, module by module

The training consists of 4 modules and 16 lessons, in short sequences : we progress lesson by lesson, with time to assimilate in between. Here is the actual content, as it is structured on the platform. Each module corresponds to a concrete moment of support : understanding, adapting, accompanying, preserving oneself.

1

Understanding motor disorders of MS

  • Spasticity — understanding to no longer be afraid — what this muscle stiffness is, why it occurs, and how to recognize it so as not to confuse it with resistance or unwillingness.
  • Balance and coordination disorders — why walking becomes hesitant, how to secure movements and identify risky situations in daily life.
  • Muscle weakness and motor fatigue — the infamous fatigue of MS, invisible and fluctuating : how to understand it, respect it, and adapt activities without denying it.
  • Bladder-sphincter disorders — a difficult topic to address — a common and taboo symptom : how to talk about it with dignity, observe without judging, and know when to refer to a healthcare professional.
2

Adapting the home and preventing falls

  • Assessing risks in the home — taking a fresh look around each room to identify what obstructs, what slips, and what is missing.
  • Concrete adaptations room by room — simple and inexpensive adjustments that change lives : clear circulation, supports, lighting, objects within reach.
  • Technical aids — choosing and using them well — cane, walker, grab bars, gripping aids : how to choose them and which professional to consult for advice.
  • Preventing falls and managing after a fall — reducing daily risk and adopting the right attitude if a fall occurs, without injuring oneself.
3

Accompanying without doing it for them

  • The fundamental principle of autonomy stimulation — why helping "too much" can accelerate the loss of autonomy, and how to find the right balance between support and respect.
  • Everyday gestures — practical techniques — dressing, meals, transfers, hygiene : how to offer the right gesture at the right moment, safely for both.
  • Coordinating with rehabilitators — physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist : how to relay their work at home and communicate your observations without interfering with their role.
  • Maintaining physical and cognitive stimulation — keeping movement, memory, and attention through regular and adapted activities, without exhausting.
4

Taking care of yourself

  • The physical exhaustion of the MS caregiver — recognizing one's own warning signs before reaching the breaking point, and understanding that preserving oneself is not abandoning.
  • Organizing human support — accepting and seeking help : family, neighbors, professionals, respite structures.
  • Your rights as a caregiver — an overview of the systems that exist for family caregivers, to be clarified with the competent interlocutors in your country.
  • Taking care of your health — sleep, back, morale : preserving a space that remains yours to endure over time.
💡 Our progression advice

Don't look at everything at once. Follow one or two lessons at a time, and test one thing in between: a rug removed from the hallway, a phrase of encouragement instead of a gesture made in its place, ten minutes of stimulation. It's the repetition that changes daily life, not the amount of information consumed in one evening.

Do you want to discover the details of the 16 lessons ?

The training is accessible immediately after registration, at your own pace and for unlimited access. Enough to transform "I don't know what to do" into concrete actions, starting this week.

The format and organization

Everything is designed for a person who does not have a guaranteed time slot in their week. No imposed schedule, no virtual class at a fixed time, no deadline: you open the training when the house is quiet, and you pick it up where you left off.

The important point for a caregiver: access remains open. You can revisit the lesson on transfers the day your loved one has more difficulty getting up, or reopen the module on caregiver burnout six months after completing the course, when fatigue sets in. It's often at that moment that the content makes the most sense. The training then becomes less of a course and more of a reference resource that you return to as the disease progresses.

A progression designed for loved ones

The modules follow a deliberate logic: we start by understanding what is happening in the body (module 1), because you cannot properly support what you do not understand. We then secure the environment (module 2), adjust our supporting posture (module 3), and finish with ourselves (module 4). This order is not mandatory: if the issue weighing on you tonight is your own exhaustion, start with module 4. No one will grade you on your attendance.

What you will be able to do by the end

Not theoretical knowledge: actions and reflexes. Here is what you should be able to do concretely once the course is completed.

🧠

Decode symptoms

Differentiate between spasticity, fatigue, and muscle weakness — and stop interpreting a bad day as a lack of willpower.

🏡

Secure the home

Identify risk points room by room and make simple adjustments that prevent falls, without turning the house into a hospital.

🤝

Help without doing it for them

Offer the right action at the right moment, encourage the remaining autonomy, and secure transfers for both of you.

🔗

Communicate with caregivers

Understand medical vocabulary, convey your observations usefully, and relay the work of rehabilitators at home.

🎯

Stimulate without exhausting

Establish a short and regular routine of physical and cognitive stimulation, and recognize when to stop.

🛟

Last over time

Identify your own signs of exhaustion, organize relays, know your rights, and maintain a space that remains yours.

The free tools and the app that complement it

The training comes with several DYNSEO resources that can be used immediately, without additional purchase. The following tools are free, printable, and downloadable from the tools catalog :

On the digital side, the app CLINT, DYNSEO's brain coach for adults, offers memory, attention, and logic games with result tracking : a simple support for regular cognitive stimulation addressed in module 3, to be dosed according to current fatigue. You can also check in with DYNSEO's online cognitive tests, for guidance and never as a substitute for an assessment conducted by a professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete the MS and daily life training ?

There is no set duration. The training consists of 4 modules and 16 short lessons, which most learners spread over one to two weeks, with one or two lessons per evening. You can also go through it all at once if you prefer. The key is to assimilate between two sessions rather than watching everything at once. Access remains open indefinitely after the course ends : you can return to any lesson when it becomes useful to you.

Do I need medical knowledge to take it ?

No, none. The training is classified as “all levels” and is explicitly aimed at families and caregivers. The vocabulary — spasticity, bladder-bowel disorders, motor fatigue — is explained as you go. You do not need to know neurology before starting : understanding these concepts in clear language is precisely one of the objectives of the first module. No prerequisites or prior qualifications are required to enroll.

Will I receive a certificate at the end ?

Yes. At the end of the course, a certificate of completion in your name is issued by DYNSEO, a training organization certified Qualiopi (No. 11757351875). This certificate attests to your participation in the training. It does not constitute a state diploma or a regulated professional qualification. However, for a professional, it may be included in a skills development file, depending on the conditions specific to their employer and skills operator.

Can the training be financially covered ?

For an individual supporting a loved one, the training is purchased directly for €20. For a professional, DYNSEO's Qualiopi certification allows an employer to consider coverage under the skills development plan. Conditions depend on the skills operator and applicable regulations ; they should be verified with the HR service before purchase. No amount of aid can be guaranteed in advance : inquire with the relevant contacts regarding your situation.

What support is available in case of difficulty ?

The training is 100 % online and is followed independently, on computer, tablet, or smartphone. In case of access issues, connection to your account, or payment problems, the DYNSEO team can be reached via the contact channels on the site. However, no lesson replaces medical advice : for any questions about the illness, symptoms, or treatments of your loved one, consult the doctor who is following them or their rehabilitation team.

ℹ️ Good to know

This training is an information and support tool intended for relatives. It does not replace any health professional and does not provide any diagnosis. For any decisions regarding care, technical aids, treatments, or the progression of the disease, refer to the doctor who follows your relative and the rehabilitation team. In case of sudden deterioration, contact the emergency services in your country.

Move from worry to the right actions

With the SEP training and daily life, 4 modules and 16 short lessons provide you with concrete guidelines to maintain your relative's autonomy, prevent complications as much as possible, and preserve your own health as a caregiver. Immediate, unlimited access, at your own pace.
