Free Speech Therapist Material: 15 Professional Tools to Print

Are you a speech therapist, a speech therapy student, or a recent graduate starting out? This page brings together 15 free professional tools designed to save you time in practice: assessment grids, tracking sheets, AAC supports, games to laminate, exercise boards. Everything is printable with one click via the “🖨 Print this tool” button available on each support. No registration, no email required.

These 15 tools have been designed to meet the concrete needs of a speech therapy practice: a quick observation grid when a new patient arrives without assessment, a clear format for session reports, visual supports for non-verbal patients, games to laminate that will last for years. The goal: to save you hours of formatting and the eternal quest for materials on professional forums.

Why free speech therapist materials online?

Setting up in private practice, managing an office, purchasing professional materials: all significant costs for young speech therapists. A battery of standardized tests can cost several thousand euros. A subscription to a professional platform often exceeds 200 euros per year. However, many everyday tools — grids, forms, visual supports — can be found for free, provided you know where to look.

The bet on professional transparency

At DYNSEO, we have been designing digital and paper tools for care and support professionals for thirteen years. Part of our catalog is commercial, but we also make dozens of professional supports available for free. Why? Because we believe that a better-equipped speech therapist is a speech therapist who can devote more time to what really matters: the therapeutic relationship, clinical observation, adapting to the needs of each patient.

Supports designed with professionals

All the tools we offer have been developed in collaboration with speech therapists, neuropsychologists, and specialized educators. They respect the sober graphic codes of the practice, remain neutral to adapt to different audiences, and prioritize efficiency over gratuitous aesthetics.

How to download these tools in PDF?

Each tool below has a button “ 🖨 Print this tool ” at the top right. Click on it, and your browser will open the print window. You can then print directly on A4 paper (ideal for grids to fill out manually) or save in PDF format by selecting this option as the printer (perfect for archiving, emailing, or laminating later).

For the games to laminate (bingo, memory, cards), we recommend printing on paper of at least 180g, then laminating with a laminator at 125 microns. Your supports will last for years, even with daily handling.

Assessment and report

The initial assessment is the foundation of any care. Without a structured assessment, there is no coherent care plan. These three tools allow you to quickly lay the groundwork for an evaluation, in addition to or while waiting for more comprehensive standardized tests.

Monitoring and coordination

Rigorous follow-up is what distinguishes a good therapist. Documenting each session, planning objectives, communicating with the surroundings: these administrative tasks are time-consuming but essential. These three tools will help you gain efficiency while ensuring the quality of care. To go further, discover our complementary tools such as the complete session follow-up sheet or the skills tracking table.

CAA supports and non-verbal communication

For non-verbal or minimally verbal patients (severe autism, global aphasia, multiple disabilities), visual supports are essential. The following three tools are designed to be laminated and used in the office, at school, or at home. Our application MY DICTIONARY offers a digital supplement with over 1500 pictograms to go further.

TOOL N°7

Beyond the sheets: structuring an effective speech therapy office

Having 15 free tools ready to use is an excellent starting point. But the effectiveness of an office relies on something deeper: a clear organization, a structured therapeutic approach, and the ability to reinvent oneself in the face of changes in the profession. Here are some ideas to go further.

Invest in key standardized tests

Free tools are valuable, but they do not replace the essential standardized tests for speech therapy assessments. For a general pediatric office, the ELO, NEEL, EVALEO 6-15, or BALE constitute a minimal foundation. For an adult office, the MT-86, GRECO, or BEC-96 are essential. Build a progressive library: one test per year during the first years of practice, prioritizing those most used with your patients.

Diversify therapeutic supports

Paper remains fundamental, but digital supports provide valuable complementary dimensions: immediate feedback, automatic adaptation to the level, motivating gamification, possibility of working from home. Our suite of cognitive applications ((COCO for children, CLINT for adults, SCARLETT for seniors) has been specifically designed for this digital complement.

Engage in continuous training

Speech therapy evolves quickly. The theoretical models change (the emergence of pragmatics for ASD, evolution of paradigms in aphasiology). The tools are renewed. Best practice recommendations become clearer. A speech therapist who has not undergone training in 5 years accumulates considerable delays. Sign up for DPC, take short thematic courses, read professional journals.

At DYNSEO, we offer Qualiopi training specifically tailored for speech therapists: adult autism, cognitive disorders in the elderly, end-of-life support, specific language disorders. Discover our catalog of professional training.

Build a network of peers

Professional isolation is one of the major risks of private practice. Joining a local association of speech therapists, participating in practice analysis groups, exchanging with other rehabilitation professionals (psychomotor therapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists) greatly enriches your perspective. Multidisciplinarity is the future of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to download a tool in PDF?

Click on the “ 🖨 Print this tool” button at the top right of each tool. In the print window that opens, select “Save as PDF” as the printer. The PDF is immediately downloaded to your computer.

Can these tools replace standardized tests?

No. The free tools offered here are complementary to standardized tests but do not replace them. For diagnostic assessment, you must use scientifically validated tests that are standardized on reference populations. The free observation grids serve as a complement to structure clinical observation.

Can I modify these tools before using them?

Not directly from the web page, but once downloaded as a PDF, you can open them with Adobe Acrobat, Foxit Reader, or a free PDF editor to annotate, add your practice logo, or customize certain sections. You can also print and then photocopy after handwritten customization.

What equipment should I prioritize when starting out?

Priority: a library of standardized tests (€1500-3000), a set of materials for oral rehabilitation (mirrors, tongue depressors, nursery rhymes), visual supports (cards, bingo), a dedicated computer, a color laser printer, and a laminator. Free resources help save on the second item while covering daily needs.

How to laminate games for the practice?

A mid-range laminator costs €50-80. Use 180-200g paper for printing and pouches of at least 125 microns (175 microns ideally). Laminating for 2-3 hours of work provides you with materials usable for years, resistant to the wear of daily handling.

Can these tools be used in teletherapy?

Yes. Visual supports can be displayed on screen or sent as PDFs to families before the session. Evaluation and follow-up sheets can be completed via video conference. Just remember to send the printed materials in advance for paper-pencil exercises.

Are there other free resources for speech therapists?

Yes, many. The National Federation of Speech Therapists (FNO) offers resources reserved for members. The Orthomalin site, the Orthos forum, and certain pages of the University of Strasbourg provide free materials. Our DYNSEO tools catalog also gathers dozens of freely accessible resources.
