Duration
2 to 3 hours of training divided into 5 progressive modules
Processes
100% online training, accessible from your computer or tablet. You progress at your own pace, whenever you want, without time constraints.
What You Will Learn
This training allows you to understand the motor characteristics related to Down syndrome, particularly hypotonia and hyperlaxity, and their effects on balance, posture, and daily actions. You will discover fun and accessible activities to stimulate your child’s overall motor and fine motor skills, while respecting their pace and abilities.
Through practical explanations and immediately applicable strategies, you will learn to transform moments of daily life into opportunities for motor development, without the need for “sessions.”
By the end of this training, you will be able to
- Understand hypotonia and hyperlaxity: what they are, why they exist, and how they develop over time
- Identify the effects on balance, posture, and walking: the child’s natural adaptations and supportive strategies
- Understand why daily actions require more effort: muscle effort, coordination, precision, and fatigue
- Propose adapted movement games: dance, home motor tracks, children’s yoga
- Implement beneficial physical activities: swimming, walking, ball games
- Use techniques to gradually strengthen tone: resistance games, strengthening positions, pushing/pulling activities
- Develop fine motor skills through crafts: beads, plasticine, painting, cutting
- Transform functional actions into exercises: buttoning, opening, putting on, dressing
- Propose games for precision and visual-motor coordination: puzzles, building, adjustments, graphic activities
- Incorporate motor tasks into daily life: morning routines, meals, transfers, bathing, cleaning
- Adapt according to fatigue and motivation: recognizing cues and adjusting expectations
- Track progress and maintain confidence: journals, photos, celebrating victories
